I barely think fondly of my past experience. My head is always dreaming about what may happen in the future. My missing Japan is in fact guesswork made by causes and consequences, not feelings.
That is what being me feels like, I am not proud of it.
But yesterday, I have had a vivid imagination of the day I and my gang go to Enoshima beach. Summer is three months away, and I have been craving vitamin see, that's why.
Though Enoshima can not be considered "a very beautiful beach", I thought of Enoshima, but not any other beaches. The reason is that I do not miss the beach and the scenery, I miss the experience.
It was actually my first time to play beach ball, to sit on a friend's neck to play beach games or to lie on a beach all day for the sake of laziness.
These ideas of having fun on the beaches are not what I grew up with.
For any Vietnamese child who comes from a middle-class family in the 2000s, beach vacation means Cua Lo, Sam Son, Do Son. Going to the beaches means dipping yourself in the waters and doing wave jumping, eating seafood and squid fried rice. There is no watermelon, no sandcastle, no beach ball.
They are just different. Since after writing these lines, I am kind of craving for a Vietnamese beach experience too, I do not intend to express any favors.
But yeah, I would definitely try to have more beach experiences like Enoshima. The idea of spending a looooong time by the water, under the sun, getting active makes me happy.
